💫 About our team: Hey, I’m Vega — and this is my story.

Once, I came to America on a J-1 visa. I dreamed of freedom, wild adventures, making money — and maybe even finding love. 💸🌊💘

The J-1 program sent me to a small beach town to sell bracelets in an amusement park. 🎡

And no matter how hard I hustled — I didn’t find friends, adventure, or love. But I did work hard.

All I had were bracelets, a propeller hat, and a person in a giant turtle costume who waved at me every day. 🐢🎩

I thought:

“If this is the American dream — I want a refund.”

I won't lie…

I wanted to be a Baywatch lifeguard - but instead, I became a happiness manager in a propeller hat. 😅🏖️

🧭 The dream that didn’t go as planned…At the end of the program, I dreamed of seeing the Grand Canyon, LA, Vegas, Miami… or at least New York.

But traveling alone? Kinda boring.

I wasn’t even 25 — couldn’t rent a car. 🚗💔

I wanted to party — like in the movies. 🎬🎉

I kept thinking:

“How do I get into the America I saw on screen?”

🎓 Then came the F-1 journey…A year later, I became an F-1 student.

Still chasing the dream — to play football, date a cheerleader, and breathe in the freedom of the U.S. 🏈📚🇺🇸 But I didn’t see one thing coming: We’re collectivists. We love deep, soulful hangouts.

But here? It’s different.

No more:

“Bro, let’s grab shawarma.” “Let’s hit the gym.” “Let’s hop on PlayStation.”

Here, everyone’s on their own. Even on campus — guys leave a seat between them. “Personal space, bro.” 😅 I realized: This is another planet. 🌍 Where you're your own team. Your own support group. Your own best friend.
